The origins of the Durmanhoth are very deep. Long ago when the great Isle of Numenor still stood, a few of the men from this Isle craved gold and power.

The voyage back to Middle Earth had been known and sailed many times. This small group of men decided to sail back to the lands of old once more to gain power, prestige and gold.

They conquered the less advanced sea towns along the coast and gained a great deal of infamy amoung the coastal populace. Thus it was that mighty Sauron's roving eye came to behold them. It came to the menacing Ainu's mind that great use could come from such blood-thirsty driven men. Thus it was that he coerced them into leaving their ships in hopes of gaining greater fame and fortune in his service on the land as his private band of assassins. He trained them in the dark arts of assassination and opened their minds to a new vision of murder for gold. This group of men he named "The Durmanhoth" his blessed evil horde. They served him well, and even though secrecy was strictly kept by them, their fame and power began to grow.

At the height of their power, Mutalator, leader of the Durmanhoth was struck down along side Sauron himself by Elendil the Tall and Gil-Galad in the war of the Last Alliance. The Durmanhoth was forced to maintain an even greater veil of secrect and awaited for someone to lead them to their former glory. Then one day Serex came to the land with a thirst for blood and led these men back to their former glory. Once again, the Durmanhoth became secret tools in the wars of Arda!

The Durmanhoth is not like any other guild in the game. Even though murder for gold is a rather EVIL thought, they are more impartial in killing for any gold they can. It has been said the hardened killers will kill for any amount of money, because it is the rush they are after. This is not the profession or the guild for the weak and squeamish. If you like to kill and watch the life force drain from your victim while you loot his unmoving body, then join us and learn the dark arts of assassination.
